Get a heads-up when a competitor changes their pricing or offers

Your automation checks a few competitor pages each week, and the AI tells you in plain English what changed and whether it matters to you.

How it works

  1. You list three to five competitor pages to watch: pricing, services, or promotions.
  2. Each week the automation fetches the page text and compares it to last week’s saved copy.
  3. If something changed, the AI summarizes the change and rates how relevant it is to your business.
  4. You get a short alert by email or Slack, and nothing if nothing changed.

The guardrail

A person decides whether to respond; the AI only reports what changed on public pages and never recommends copying or undercutting a price on its own.

Tools that do this: n8n or Make, an HTTP request or page-monitor step, Google Sheets or Airtable (saved copies), an LLM (Claude or OpenAI), Slack or Gmail

Prompt to start with
You monitor public competitor web pages for [business name], a [type of business] in [city]. Compare the OLD and NEW text of this page and describe only differences that are really there.

Competitor: [competitor name]
Page: [page URL]
OLD text:
[paste old text]
NEW text:
[paste new text]

Return: 1) a plain-English list of what changed (prices, services, promotions, wording), 2) whether each change matters to us (high, medium or low) with one sentence of reasoning, 3) one question the owner should think about. If the texts are effectively identical, reply 'No meaningful change.' Do not guess at changes you cannot see.
